Warm Days = Longer Walks

Living in middle Georgia has it's advantages, for example 76 degree weather in February!  Yes the days feel great and I hope it lasts.  Tee shirts can be worn, windows left open, and walks can be longer.  Little Baby (Ripley's most common nickname next to BooBoo) loves a nice long walk with his family!

Up close and personal!

Visiting Tampa

Last week my wonderful boyfriend and I packed up the car and our little furry baby (Ripley, the Weiner dog) and headed south for the weekend; Tampa to be exact!  What made us drive 12+ hours for 1 ½ days of relaxing you ask?  My favorite Grandma Savage of course!  Usually my grandma resides in freezing cold, not to mention very far away, Zion, IL.  However recent events have inspired her to move south for a couple months and live with her sister, my Great Aunt Roberta.  They have a pretty sweet set up down there:  a beautiful community with sidewalks, a private screened in pool, and great weather.  My parents also made the drive down which made for a pretty full and even more fun house.  We spent the days relaxing around the house with the nice breezing blowing through the always open back door.  Of course we took advantage of the private pool and nice hot sun beaming down on us.  We even got to see some true wildlife at the Manatee Viewing Center.  Ripley wasn’t allowed there but I held onto him and nobody seemed to mind.  One of the greatest forms of entertainment we had involved Ripley and his three new ‘sort-of’ best friends:  Sadie, Kody, and Kaylee.  All three of them are Yorkies and each one has their own special personality.  Kody and Ripley seemed to hit if off at first, being the boys I think they felt a common bond, until of course one of them sniffed the other a little too long and they had their first fight.  Kaylee, the youngest of the pups did not care for Ripley AT ALL! If he so much as moved around her she would be all over him yipping and yapping.  I think she secretly had a crush on him and was just playing hard to get.  Sadie is the oldest and most civil of the group, getting along with just about everyone.  Between the pool, the manatees, and the dogs the greatest entertainment still had to come from my grandma and my great aunt.  We spend hours lounging around watching the two of them mess with and try to learn things about cell phones, the internet, laptops, and even an Ipad.  I must say this brought many laughs to us throughout the day!  I had a great time with everyone and I just hope my grandma stays there long enough so I can go back and visit!
